Heavy mechanical beds sit alongside unstable tones, distant hums and quieter, suspended atmospheres.

Jason Cushing, Andrew Pals and Bryan Leach each brought their own ear and approach. The result moves from recognisable spaces into something harder to place: a sound beneath the scene, a presence just outside the frame.

Recorded in real spaces.

The recording journey took in a 1920s Gothic Revival building and an old Industrial Revolution-era factory. The included recordings also explore rooftop ambience, parking garages, a water tank, electrical rooms, ventilation systems and mechanical rumble.

These sounds bring their own irregularities and sense of space—use them as environments, layers, or starting points for further design.

Tape, tone and transformation.

Cassette manipulations, broken-tape textures, synth drones and machine-like tones form a large part of the collection. Some sounds stay close to a hum or a sustained note. Others shift, fray and build into something much less familiar.

Explore sounds including Cold Tape Warble, Grain Ghosts, Space Machine Room, Factory Floor and the Cassette Manipulations series.

Library specifications

303 WAV files

12+ GB

24-bit / 96 kHz

280 designed drones and 23 files across recording and source categories

Descriptive filenames and category metadata

Sounds recorded and designed by Jason Cushing, Andrew Pals and Bryan Leach.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0632/6396/5321/files/DD3_F_8bf46516-b9f0-4e74-99c0-69d220249739.jpg?v=1778724557
