The Ultimate Robot Sound Effects Library

A five-year robot sound design project

Robotic Lifeforms 2 is a massive robot sound effects library built over five years from high-resolution recordings, modular synthesis, Kyma, and detailed DSP design. More than 4,100 files cover everything from tiny servos and synthetic vocalizations to giant mech movements, transforms, scanners, interfaces, and mechanical weaponry.

Designed sounds + high-resolution source

The collection combines 2,700+ designed sounds with more than 1,300 source recordings, many captured at 192kHz/24-bit with a Sanken CO-100K. That source material is designed to tolerate deep pitching and manipulation, giving you room to build robotic identities beyond the finished effects.

From subtle machinery to giant mechs

Whether you're designing AI systems, animated robots, futuristic interfaces, or enormous cinematic machines, the library works as both a ready-to-use arsenal and a deep construction kit.

High-quality and extremely versatile

Another brilliant addition to my toolkit – many thanks to the team at Soundmorph! The product delivers on everything promised in the description, and much more besides. At the moment, I’m using ‘Robotic Lifeforms 2’ in a completely different context (nothing to do with sci-fi or robots at all). It’s simply brilliant for anything ‘mechanical’, bringing moving objects to life. From tiny to huge, from fast to slow. And it’s also fantastic for UI elements (in games).

Impressive and Comprehensive

RL 2 is an impressive collection of all things robotic and sci fi and cinematic. Very high quality sounds, a nice variety of each type of sound, and all the source files for rolling your own. When auditioning the library I felt like I might as well have been wandering around a giant futuristic robotics factory with an android tour guide and a few companion droids rolling curiously nearby.

I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS THAT GOOD!

I'D BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO ADDING ROBOTIC LIFEFORMS 2 TO MY SOUNDMORPH COLLECTION FOR A WHILE. AS IT WAS DOWNLOADING, I HAD THE BIGGEST SMILE ON MY FACE... AND ONCE I STARTED PREVIEWING THE SOUNDS, I STARTED LAUGHING ALOUD, BECAUSE I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS THAT GOOD! I WAS INSTANTLY INSPIRED! THE ONLY THING LEFT TO SAY IS... THANK YOU, SOUNDMORPH!

Wonderfully adaptable library

Been using SoundMorph tools for years and they are hands down the most easily adaptable and at times inspirational fx libraries we use. Robotic Lifeforms is no exception. The source files alone would be enough to clinch the deal but the designed versions are exceptional and at many times a huge timesaver. Bravo!

Phenomenal collection of real world and out of this world sounds. Even if you are needing them for non-scifi related work, it's a fantastic collection to have.

Thanks Adam!

I absolutely adore this pack! It’s one of my go to libraries whenever I’m working on trailers, synch or even songs for artists. The quality and volume of material included means you can always reach for it knowing you’ll find something to sonically excite you and the quality of sound design is second to none. This is a must have!

As a freelance sound designer for game, VR and video, this sample pack has been an invaluable asset for me. The designed sounds are beautifully crafted, and the sound sources are a great resource if you need to design your own modern/futuristic soundworld from scratch. Thank you Soundmorph!

Awesome collection of big beefy sounds that help speed up my workflow when I don’t have the time to design from scratch. Top notch sounds as always!

Important install note

Open this file after downloading every part:

For multipart sound libraries

  1. Download every part into the same folder. Wait until every download has finished, and keep the original filenames unchanged.
  2. Open Part 1 only in one of the apps below: the file ending in .7z.001, .zip.001 or .part1.rar (sometimes .part01.rar). For older .rar + .r00 sets, open the .rar file.
  3. The app reads the remaining parts automatically and extracts the complete library. Keep all parts together until extraction finishes; you do not need to open the other parts.

If your library contains separate, complete ZIP archives instead of numbered volumes, extract each ZIP separately. Software installers have their own instructions.

Mac — Keka recommended
Keka is our recommended Mac app for large SoundMorph libraries and can be faster than The Unarchiver. Get the free direct download from Keka’s website, or support its developer with the Mac App Store version ($6.49 USD). Store pricing varies by region and may change. The Unarchiver also works and is free. Extraction speed depends on your Mac and the archive.

Keka users: allow folder or drive access

Keka needs permission to read the folder or drive holding your downloads, especially multipart archives on an external drive. If you have not already granted access:

  1. Open Keka → Settings (or Preferences) → File Access.
  2. Click the + button at the bottom left. Select the folder or drive containing all your downloaded parts, then click Give access to Keka (or Open).
  3. If you are extracting to a different folder or drive, grant access there too. Then open Part 1 only again.

Seeing “Operation not permitted” or “Cannot open the file as archive”? Check Keka’s access first. These messages do not necessarily mean the download is damaged.

Show Keka settings (+ button)
Keka File Access settings. Use the plus button in the bottom-left corner to add the folder or drive containing your downloads.
The arrow points to the + button. Add the folder or drive you are using; the entries shown here are just an example.

Windows — 7-Zip
Use 7-Zip, a free archive extraction app for Windows.

Make sure your drive has enough free space for both the downloaded archive parts and the extracted library.

* We’re developing a SoundMorph downloader and installer app to make downloading and installing your libraries faster and easier. Coming in 2027!
