Ground Breaking Binaural Granular Synthesizer.

DUST is a synthesizer plugin based on a real-time particle simulation, where each particle is a separate granulating sound source. The motion of each particle is determined by the flow field, which determines the force applied to each particle at each point. Just like how the flow of a river determines the path of a leaf floating down in it. This is our most ambitious software release to date, and you are going to love it! Weirdest UI ever

Weirdest UI ever. Don't like latching keys unless I specify latching. Don't like how one has to specify behavior. It's just plain awful. There is a reason all other VSTs behave the way they do. It's how people expect them to work. Plus the DUST gui is HUGE. Too big. Couldn't quickly see a way to reduce the size.

Thanks for the honest feedback! DUST definitely takes a different approach from most VSTs — it was designed to inspire creativity through a more visual, exploratory workflow. We totally get that it can feel unconventional at first, but many sound designers have found it rewarding once they dive in. Funny enough, its interface has even been featured in UI design books for that very reason. Really appreciate you giving it a try and sharing your thoughts.

This is a virtual 5 stars, as I had to uninstall DUST! I got so excited having to choose between free DUST and Wave Warper 2 that I waited till the last moment to grab it, and realized just after installation that it required 16 GB of RAM, when my old computer only has 8! So, I'll have to wait for an upgrade of my system, or a new computer ;-( ... I should have gone with Wave Warper 2 ;-)

The plugin is very problematic

The plugin is very problematic. Many presets don't work at all. If you apply a preset to a track and you can hear the sound being generated, then there's no sound when it's rendered. There are other issues, too, but I haven't explored it enough yet—I've only tried it. I'd be disappointed if I'd bought it for that much money and had so many problems.
So, it doesn't interact well with other programs.
